In Belgium, there are a number of relatively small players in the field of embedded software, whose service offering is complementary in many respects. Via business contacts, these players have found each other (it's a small world…), and decided to exploit their complementarity to better serve their customer base. Some partners excel at secondment of software experts, whereas others have a solid track record in doing in-house projects. Similarly, some partners are specialized in embedded software engineering as such, whereas others are expert at software process improvement. Together, the partners form a "virtual enterprise" with a more complete service offering than each individual entity. Moreover, as a local business alliance, we are also able to face large (foreign) competitors.
